What We Do

Behavioral science research: Unraveling the relationships between people and their surroundings

Behavioral science is a core theme of the human understanding we are pursuing. In contrast to bioscience research, which seeks to unravel the human body, behavioral science focuses on the relationships between people and their surroundings, such as decision-making and interactions.

Going beyond understanding an individual's inner self and behavior, we also capture their surrounding environment and interactions with others, and by deciphering the context behind behavior, we connect this to the creation of new value.

By combining research findings and insights from fields such as psychology and behavioral economics with digital technology—a strength of IT companies—we enable mechanisms that visualize and predict behavior, and furthermore effectively update human behavior.

Additionally, behavioral science research does not stop at research alone; its insights are widely applied across the various activity themes of the Innovation Laboratories.

Enhanced resource circulation: Taking resource circulation to the next stage

We humans have produced, consumed, and discarded enormous amounts of goods. In that process, vast resources have been used, and large amounts of CO2 are emitted at the time of disposal.
Is it acceptable to continue this way? We don't believe it is.
In order to pass on a rich environment to the children of the future, we aim to promote resource circulation by leveraging ICT, behavioral economics, and psychology.
